FREE Continuing Education Courses for Social Workers
Texas Health Steps Online Provider Education offers 24/7 access to more than 40 online CE courses. Select courses provide an introduction to Case Management for Children and Pregnant Women, a program that offers health-related case management services to children with a health condition and to high-risk pregnant women. Many patients served by this program have complex needs that range from specialty referrals and medical equipment/supplies to educational, psychosocial, financial, and transportation services. Case managers, who are Licensed Social Workers or RNs, help patients and their families find and get these services. To learn more about Case Management services in Texas and register for a CE course, visit txhealthsteps.com.

A Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy Training (PACT®)
PACT is a fusion of attachment, arousal regulation, and neuroscience and is quickly gaining a reputation for being a highly effective method for treating couples thought to be untreatable. Three 3-day sessions (Level I) and three 2-day sessions (Level II) feature a combined didactic and multimedia delivery of information, group discussion, experiential exercises, clinical video presentations, case consultation, and live-case enactments. Trainings deepen knowledge about all aspects of PACT, including assessment of and interventions for attachment, arousal regulation, and neurological deficits, and therapeutic enactments. A manual, online forums, downloadable articles, webinars, and online quizzes and tutorials are included. Training is intended for marriage and family therapists, social workers, psychologists, and psychiatrists. New PACT trainings begin in 2014 in Austin.
