Emergency Preparedness Training
Disaster response
is an important way in which social workers can serve their communities. In order to make your response as useful as possible, NASW/Texas has approved the “700 NIMS” and "ICS 100" National Incident Management System training for social work continuing education credits. Disaster response has its own language and structure and it is important for social workers to have this basic information prior to volunteering for disaster relief. Upon completion of the course, please fax or email a copy of the certificate of completion to the chapter office and we will mail you your CE certificate at no charge to NASW members. Others may include a check for $15.00 payable to NASW/Texas for a certificate. http://training.fema.gov/EMIWeb/IS/is700.asp. Completion of this course should be added to your professional resume.
