For 2009, the NASW/Texas Conference Planning Committee is seeking evidence based, skill-building workshops focusing on effective treatment approaches, motivational interviewing, and assessment tools and techniques. Special attention will be given to those workshops that present information on working with diverse populations and to those that incorporate the NASW Standards of Practice, NASW Clinical Indicators, and/or policies from Social Work Speaks.
Abstracts should include adequate information for judgment through a peer-reviewed process. The submissions will be evaluated on the following points:
The abstract review process is anonymous and includes several reviewers per abstract.
Please note that all communications from NASW/Texas will go to the primary presenter unless additional email addresses are provided in this application. Otherwise, it will be the responsibility of the primary presenter to convey information to co-presenters. Presenters will be admitted to their own sessions without charge but will be required to pay conference fees if they plan to attend any additional sessions or events. Travel and per diem expenses are to be borne by the presenter(s).

NASW/Texas will provide a microphone, a podium and a screen at no cost to you.
An overhead projector (uses transparencies) will be provided, if requested.
Should you require any other equipment, you can order it at your own expense. More information will be provided should your presentation be chosen.
