fullfilling requirements for two year board-approved supervisor status

Board-approved 40-hour course for Supervision, taught by Dorinda Noble, PhD, LCSW. Dr. Noble is the former director of the School of Social Work at Texas State University. This course will take place over 3 days followed by individual online work.

After taking this course, participants will be able to fulfill the requirements to apply to be board approved supervisor.


40 CE, including 12 hrs ethics

Preregistration is available online at until Sunday, June 3rd. Seating is limited and preregistration is encouraged.

Onsite Full Day Rates will increase as follows: $45 Member/$55 Nonmember after June 3, 2018.  Pre-registration is encouraged.


IMPORTANT: This workshop requires a minimum number of participants in order to run as scheduled. The event will be rescheduled or canceled if this requirement is not met. We will inform all registrants at least two weeks prior to the course if the minimum number is not reached and a full refund will be offered. Please keep this in mind when securing hotel accommodations (i.e. refundable reservations are always encouraged.)

Note: If you are unable to attend the workshop for any reason, please notify the chapter office immediately if the invoice has not been paid so that we may have an accurate count for attendance.  If it has been paid, please notify the chapter office no later than the date listed in the cancellation policy. 

Cancellations will be refunded less a $35 processing fee if made by May 24, 2018. Registrations are nonrefundable after that date.

Registration fees must be paid or postmarked by June 3, 2018 Registrations unpaid at this time will be considered onsite registrations, meaning the seat will not be held.

The workshop will begin at 8:30 AM. Please arrive at least 10-15 minutes early to check in.


Visitors have access to free parking in the parking garage located behind the Garland School of Social Work building. You may park in marked visitor spaces on both Level B and Level E. The building entrance is located on Level B.


For lunch, attendees may choose to visit one of the many restaurants located on Austin Ave., just one block east of the building.

Meet dorinda noble, phd, lcsw


  Dorinda N. Noble, Ph.D., LCSW, previously served as Director of Social Work at Texas State. Dr. Noble taught at both Texas Tech University and Louisiana State University before joining Texas State. A graduate of Tulane University and the University of Texas-Austin, Dr. Noble is active in scholarship and teaching in the areas of supervision, ethics, and social work regulation.  Dr. Noble served on the Louisiana licensing board (appointed two times by different governors), and on the Texas social work regulatory board (a gubernatorial appointment), so she has been active in social work regulation for almost twenty years.  She is the Former President of the Association of Social Work Boards.
