Learn What Ethical Social Workers Need to Know!

Presented by NASW/Texas Executive Director, Miriam Nisenbaum, LMSW, ACSW, Ethics & the Texas Social Worker: What Ethical Social Workers Need to Know, will bring you up to speed on the rules and laws that impact social work practice in Texas. Ethical Situations  and Dilemmas will be discussed. This six hour workshop includes two informative sessions:

Session I: How to Handle Ethical Situations within the NASW Code of Ethics and the TSBSWE Code of Conduct


TSBSWE Ethical Situations will be highlighted as well as how to practice within NASW and TSBSWE Codes of Conduct. Review of recent changes to the TSBSWE rules as well as update on the Sunset Commission review of the Board. All licensed social workers, students, and social work educators will benefit from this up-to-date information.

Session II: NASW/Texas Legislative Update


Do you know what legislation is currently being considered and how it may affect our profession and our client populations? Join us to find out what’s going on at the Texas Capitol this session that impacts our work. Tools for educating policy makers will be provided. A review of current federal activity will also be presented.

Cancellations will be refunded less a $35 processing fee if made by March 24, 2017. Registrations are nonrefundable after that date.

Registration fees must be paid or postmarked by April 2, 2017. Registrations unpaid at this time will be considered onsite registrations, meaning the seat will not be held.

Miriam Nisenbaum, LMSW, ACSW is the Executive Director of the Texas Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers. She has been a professional social worker for over thirty years.
