Here is What NASW Does for Members:

Keeps the pressure on insurance companies to increase reimbursement rates and assist members with reclaiming lost revenue; in the last 7 years’ we have assisted members in reclaiming close to One Million Dollars!
Provides exceptional professional development, with free CEU’s, discounts on conference and workshops, free ethics and practice management consultation, networking, job postings, and updates on licensing before the information goes to the general public.
Advocates for policies at the federal and state level that are consistent with meeting human needs and to advance the Social Work profession; NASW filed a bill in Congress to raise reimbursement rates for LCSW’s accepting Medicare
Advocates for increased social work salaries and compensation; and expanded social work jobs by making sure Texas agencies are hiring degreed social workers.
Assist members with the state licensing board (expedited licensing applications, consultation on complaints against members, & board hearings) and led the way for the board to have increased funding and move from DSHS to an independent state agency.
Provides testimony to the legislature about the importance of our profession, and works to ensure a level playing field with the ever-growing competition for clients and dollars.
Access to the most comprehensive and cost effective professional liability insurance.
Worked with the State Licensing Board and Governor's Office to temporarily suspend the need for a Texas SW license so that out of state responders could assist with Hurricane Harvey as well as to have license renewal extended for one month beyond August
