Career Center Location & Hours

The 5th Annual NASW/Texas Career Center will be located Meeting Room M1 at the Arlington Convention Center.

 

If you're in a career transition or just getting started, stop by our Career Center for some one-on-one time with one of the top social work career services representatives in the state! Services available include resume reviews, job search guidance, and job postings. This opportunity is brought to you by the University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work and The Garland School of Social Work at Baylor University.

  

Career Center Hours

Thursday, October 6:  8:00am - 5:00pm
Friday, October 7:  8:00am - 4:00pm

  

Resume Reviews (by appointment only)

Resume review sessions with social work career services representatives from Baylor University or the University of Houston will be offered by appointment only on Thursday, October 6, and Friday, October 7. Sessions will last 30 minutes and participants should bring a hard copy of their resume for review.

103. Professionalism & Personal Advancement in the Workplace

This session will address the key areas of professionalism as determined by the Social Work Reform Board. Topics of discussion include expectations of workplace behavior, professional dress, verbal and nonverbal communications, boundaries, professional development, promoting the profession, and more. The workshop is designed both for students preparing to enter the profession as well as for practicing social workers committed to applying social work values and principles toward personal advancement in the professional world!
