The Meeting of the Profession!

The 40th Annual NASW/Texas Conference is the largest social work conference in the Southwest. With nearly 100 sessions to choose from, you can earn up to 19 hours of continuing education credit. Our conference program continues our commitment of providing high quality, affordable continuing education programs that meet social work licensing renewal requirements.

Sessions are offered across practice tracks, including: Behavioral & Mental Health; Aging & Disabilities; Health & Medical; Children, Families & Schools; Community & Administration; Professional & Career, and Social Work Education. This year’s topics include the DSM-5, Affordable Care Act, HIPAA, Military & Veterans, GLBT Issues, Self Care, Substance Abuse, and much more!

Again, we will be offering licensing review courses for the LBSW and LMSW exams, as well as many options providing Ethics and Supervision credits. All Ethics sessions will be held in the largest auditoriums to accommodate the high demand.

Career Center

Please join us for the 5th Annual NASW/Texas Career Center! Services available include resume reviews, job search guidance, and job posting opportunities. In conjunction with the Career Center, we will be offering a career services workshop, “Professionalism & Personal Advancement in the Workplace", on Thursday, October 6, 2016.

This opportunity is brought to you by the University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work and Baylor University School of Social Work.

Exhibit Hall Happenings

Our Exhibit Hall will provide you with the opportunity to meet with vendors who provide services to you and your clients or hire social workers. Whether you work for an agency or have your own practice, you will benefit from knowing the resources and opportunities available in our state. Be sure to visit the Exhibit Hall during session breaks!

Don't forget to stop by the NASW/Texas General Store in the Exhibit Hall. We will stock a myriad of social work apparel and gift items so it will be a great place to stock up for holiday gifts!

Complimentary Brunch

Enjoy brunch Thursday, October 6, at 10:45am in the Exhibit Hall. This is the kickoff event for conference and a great opportunity to meet our exhibitors, visit with friends, old and new, and maybe even win a little Member Giveaway cash while you're there. Remember, the Exhibit Hall opens at 7:30am on Thursday, so please stop by after registration, if you can. Brunch menu.

complimentary Networking Lunch

On Friday, we will have a lunch event designed to give attendees the chance to network. You will have the opportunity to meet with exhibitors and other professionals in your field. Lunch menu.
