Through a grant from REBUILD TEXAS FUND, free training will be offered in selected counties affected by Hurricane Harvey.

In exchange for FREE training and CEU's, participants must be willing to see a minimum of three persons in selected counties for at least 8 counseling sessions utilizing trauma informed care principles.


This NASWTX Counseling Agreement Form is posted along with the training registration and must be signed by the participant prior to enrollment in this Trauma-Informed Care Training. This signed agreement is a prerequisite for enrollment. Please print form, sign, and email to Miriam Nisenbaum at

Training Details:

  • This free 6 hour training is open to LMSW, LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LCDC and other licensed mental health professionals.
  • 6 CEU's will be available to social workers, licensed professional counselors and licensed marriage and family therapists.
  • Help Harvey survivors in select areas and communities with counseling and support using trauma informed care principles.




This workshop will be held at Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Galveston, Fellowship Hall, 502 Church Street, Galveston, TX 77550. 


The workshop will begin at 9:00 AM. Please arrive at least 10-15 minutes early to check in.


Parking will be located along the street as there is no parking lot.


Lunch on your own.



Sandra A. Lopez is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in clinical and consulting practice with expertise in trauma and traumatic grief. She teaches an approved clinical supervision course for licensing. She provides LCSW supervision to many social workers across diverse settings and integrates a trauma-sensitive approach in clinical supervision.
