Foster Home Developer-Tyler,TX


The Foster Home Developer is responsible for recruiting, training and certifying foster parents to provide children needing out of home care with a safe and nurturing home.

  • Recruit families interested in serving as foster parents.
  • Assess the eligibility and capacity of interested families according to licensing standards and established program criteria.
  • Train and certify eligible applicants to serve as foster parents.
  • Work independently and in cooperation with other staff to safely provide services that are in compliance with program requirements and applicable licensing and accreditation standards.

A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field is required with a Master’s Degree preferred. Relevant experience in the out of home care of children is preferred.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology, or Social Work
  • Two (2) years of experience providing sex offender specific treatment or treatment in a correctional or forensic setting.
  • Knowledge of cognitive-behavioral treatment methods, sex offender treatment methods, and mental health theories, concepts and methods related to treatment in Sexually Violent Predators facilities, forensic or correctional settings.
  • Management or Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Licensed or license-eligible in Texas as a Clinical Psychologist, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT), Social Worker (LCSW/LMSW), or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
  • Licensed Sex Offender Treatment Provider (LSOTP) who is licensed by the Council on Sex Offender Treatment is preferred.
  • LSOTP with Supervisor designation preferred.

Responsibilities:

  1. Comply with all laws, policies and procedures, rules and regulations formulated by Texas Civil Commitment Office (TCCO).
  2. Be knowledgeable and comply with the rules of the Council on Sex Offender Treatment (CSOT).
  3. Oversee the quality of services provided and ensure compliance with applicable codes, rules, regulations and program procedures.
  4. Provide clinical oversight of the facility and program to ensure efficient and effective day to day operations.
  5. Ensure timely and appropriate training to assure the ability of treatment staff to implement the responsibilities and duties of their positions.
  6. The above responsibilities are a highlight of responsibilities and not a full list. Other responsibilities may be performed as assigned.

Job Summary:

Full-time members of the faculty are professional educators who have the primary responsibility of fulfilling the Alamo Colleges’ mission, vision, values, and goal of providing a quality education for all students attending the colleges. Faculty members are classified according to the ranks of Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor. Faculty members are protected by academic freedom and bound by its accompanying responsibilities. They are responsible to a College President, Chancellor, and Board of Trustees through the chain of command and accountable to the Board’s policies and administrative procedures. The relationship of the faculty member to the student is one of leader, teacher, adviser, and facilitator of learning.

Faculty job descriptions are defined for Full-Time Teaching Faculty, Adjunct Teaching Faculty, Librarian Faculty, and Counselor Faculty. Faculty Chairpersons have a separate job description.

Minimum Education and Experience:

Master's degree in the teaching discipline or a Master's degree in another field with at least 18 hours post-graduate studies in the teaching discipline.

Case Manager-Abilene, TX 


The Case Manager is responsible for providing social services to children, youth and families that are consistent with the Methodist Children’s Home Model of Care. Case Managers must have a thorough understanding of and demonstrated competency in the Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) and other evidence-based programs.

  • Identify and assess eligible participants according to program criteria.
  • Develop and implement written plans of service based on the assessed needs of the child or family.
  • Maintain a regular schedule of contacts and case management services on the assigned caseload.
  • Coordinate, consult and collaborate with foster families and other service providers to provide needed services to children, youth and families.
