Volunteer to Serve Your Profession

NASW/Texas is currently seeking nominations for our 2015 leadership elections. Give back to the profession. Develop new skills. Build your resume. Grow your professional network.

The work of the association is not possible without our stellar volunteer leaders across the state. Please join them in making our work possible and nominate yourself for one of our open positions, including Vice President, Regional Board Member, Student Representative (MSW & BSW), Branch Chair, Nomination & Leadership Identification Committee Chair (NLIC), NLIC Branch Representative, and Delegate Assembly Representative.

View the open positions list to learn which positions are up for election in your area, and check out the Elections webpage to learn more about the process and submit your self nomination by December 1!

Questions? Please contact NLIC Chair, Judy Scholtzhauer, your local NLIC Rep, or the Chapter Office.

In different election news, please remember to vote in the elections tomorrow, Tuesday, November 4! Find your polling place. Learn what you'll need to bring.

Thank you for making the 38th Annual NASW/Texas State Conference a Success!

Thanks to everyone who attended our Annual State Conference in San Marcos last month. We had a blast taking over the Embassy Suites with nearly 1000 social workers
We had the opportunity to honor some truly amazing people from across Texas at our Chapter Awards Ceremony, networked and made new connections in the exhibit hall, learned new skills and perspective at the various sessions, and had a blast raising money for the TPACE Education Fund with a spirited Mummy Wrap!
Be sure to watch our Facebook page for pictures from the conference coming soon. Special thanks to Troy Barboza, a San Marcos high school student and owner of Troy Barboza photography, for donating his services!
Each year we invite our 50-year anniversary members to join us at the Conference and acknowledge their commitment to their professional association during the opening plenary. We received this lovely note from Leah Snell, LCSW, ACSW, a 50-year member, this week.
Save the Date for next year's conference: Thursday - Saturday, November 12 - 14, 2015 in Galveston! The call for proposals and for abstract readers will be announced in December. We can't wait to see you there!
