(Pictured, left to right: NASW/Houston Branch Chair Crystal Sallans, NASW/Houston 2016 Social Worker of the Year Januari Leo, and NASW/Houston Steering Committee Member Jillian Bissar)
Branches around the state celebrated Social Work Month in March with annual festivities that culminated with the honoring of their 2016 Branch Awardees. The efforts of these remarkable individuals exemplify social work values and serve as an inspiration to us all. Nominations for Chapter-level Awards are due April 15 and must be submitted online by a branch chair or NLIC representative.
Chapter-level awardees are chosen by the Awards Committee. Awardees will be notified in June and recognized at the Opening Plenary of the 40th Annual NASW/Texas State Conference in Arlington, this October 6-8. View list of branch awardees.

Student Poster Presentation Returns

The 2016 NASW/Texas State Conference Planning Committee is seeking poster proposals from SOCIAL WORK STUDENTS to present at our conference in Arlington this October 6-8! Poster proposals must include topics that build knowledge and skills in social work practice, theory, policy or research that are relevant to today’s practice issues and clients/client systems we serve.

This is a great opportunity for students to add a state conference presentation to their resume and network with social workers and other FUTURE social workers. This year's Student Poster Presentation is sponsored by Texas Christian University Department of Social Work. To learn more about the proposal submission process, please visit the Student Poster Presentation webpage.
