Legislative Changes to the Texas Loan Repayment Program for Mental Health Professionals
The Texas Coalition of Healthy Minds and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board invite you to join us on January 28, 2026 from 12:00pm –1:30pm for a webinar on recent legislative and eligibility changes to the State Loan Repayment Program for Mental Health Professionals. Presented by: Mckenzie Martin with Texas Association of Community Health Centers, Bryan Mares with NASW-TX, and Erika Norris with the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. In 2025, the 89th Legislature passed SB 646, which increased repayment amounts for eligible mental health providers and expanded the program to include additional license types such as Licensed Master Social Workers, Licensed Professional Counselor Associates, and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy Associates. This webinar will provide an overview of the updated eligibility criteria, walk you through the application process, and address any questions you may have about the program. This course does not offer CE Hours.
