Why Run for an NASW/Texas Elected Leadership Position? 

Do you want to help advance the profession of social work in Texas? Network with social work leaders across the state? Develop your leadership skills?

Being a volunteer leader with NASW/Texas is a fun and meaningful way to increase your leadership skills, pursue your passions, and serve the profession. The NASW/Texas staff is made up of three social workers and four administrative staff. It is truly the work of our elected leaders that makes serving our more than 5,100 members possible. Volunteer leaders are a vital part of what we do and determine what direction we head in Texas!

important Tips for Submitting Your Nomination Successfully

  • The deadline to submit your nomination for the 2020 Chapter Elections will be December 6, 2019.
  • You must be logged in as an NASW/Texas Member to access this form. Your login information is the same as what you use at Should you require any assistance signing in, please contact our staff at or 512-474-1454.
  • You may use the PDF version of the submission form to prepare for the online form. Once you begin filling out the online form you must complete it in one sitting; you cannot save and return to it. We recommend using the downloadable form to ensure you have collected all the necessary information before inputting.
  • The position statement should be the following length: President-Elect, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, NLIC Chair (200 words); Board Member, Student Representatives, Branch Chairs, NLIC Representatives, Delegate Assembly Representatives (75 words). If your statement is too long, it will not be edited; it will be cut off at the maximum word length.
  • View this listing of candidates to see how your information will be presented to the membership if you are slated.
  • Do not attach resumes, vitae etc., these will not be considered by the NLIC.
